For all those who are not already aware the 10th of October is World Mental Health Day and as a way of celebrating the many faces of mental health I have invited some of those faces to share their experiences over the course of October in whatever way makes most sense for them.

It is therefore an absolute pleasure to kickstart the month with this song by the ever amazing Ricky Boom-Boom entitled ‘A Song For All My Negative Emotions’; I am of course biased because he is such a lovely human being and a superb musician but it’s genuinely awesome and i am very honoured to be involved in launching it out into the wide world of the internet! As someone who clawed their way through a music GCSE and was forced to write a composition i have nothing but admiration for anyone who can write meaningful lyrics so make sure you check them out below.

Lyrics To ‘A Song For All My Negative Emotions’

Consumed by all my fears,
Until there’s nothing else to hear,
But the melody of maladies inside,
And though I’m not at peace,
Music is my souls release
And this silent suffering I can’t abide

Dumbstruck by the heartache and the bad vibes and the pain,
Voices can regain in just the simplest refrain,

I’ll write a song for all my negative emotions
One way or another

Burdened by a weight,
That’s so inarticulate,
There’s no easy way to express all the strain,
It adds up all the same,
But with so many different names,
Music is the muse I choose to break the chains,

Dumbstruck by the heartache and the bad vibes and the pain,
Voices can regain in just the simplest refrain,

I’ll write a song for all my negative emotions
One way or another
